There are two primary types of multi-step pop-up forms: the link-based opt-in form and the yes/no opt-in form. The link-based opt-in forms start off looking like a plain text link (I provide examples in the video). When you click on the text link, you are then shown the opt-in popup. The "yes/no" style opt-in popups can be triggered a few ways, including: - Waiting a specified amount of time before showing automatically. - On link click. - As the visitor is leaving the page. - And many more options. Regardless of how the opt-in is triggered, it always starts out asking a yes or no question. If the visitor says no, then the opt-in is dismissed and nothing else happens. If the visitor clicks "yes" then they are shown an opt-in form. Why is this effective? Because of the Zeigarnik effect, which we'll cover in today's video. In this video, we're going to talk about why multi-step opt-in forms are effective, and I'll walk you through creating both types using a great tool called OptinMonster.
