Dividend Payout Ratio Example

This calculator grabs the last 4 dividend payments when calculating the dividend payout ratio. If the company has raised their dividend recently, then this will not be reflected entirely in the calculations.

For example, let’s say that company X paid out 20 cents in Quarter 2, Quarter 3, and Quarter 4, then declared a new dividend of 25 cents, and paid it out in Q1 of the new year. This calculator will calculate the annual dividend as 85 cents rather than the $1.00 that many might calculate. If you would prefer to calculate the $1.00, then you can simply change the amount in the “Dividends Per Share” text box.
